FAQ - Integration
Frequently Asked Questions
How do file sending periods work?
Files are sent at specific times that are pre-determined in the integration settings. Example: We can set the file to be sent every 12 hours, for example: at 5 am and 5 pm. However, the file will only be sent after the sending delay.
How does the sending delay work and what is it?
We need to set a delay for sending, which we recommend to be at least 1 hour. This delay is used to wait for messages with more up-to-date information to arrive in order to assemble the file, which is why it is important.
Example: We set the file to be sent at 5 am and 5 pm with a 1-hour delay, in which case the files will be sent at 6 am and 6 pm, respectively.
How does data cleaning work within the file?
Messages that arrive with the same reading minute are grouped together; you can see the number of identical messages in the records column.
What happens to messages with delays longer than the integration configuration period?
When delayed messages arrive in which the file in which they were supposed to be included has already been sent, they are ignored and are not included in the exported file.
Can I change the pulse factor of a device?
Yes, but this is done through the GroupLink support channel; at the moment, it is not possible to change it yourself.
How much storage space do files sent to the bucket take up?
This depends on the file types defined for the integration (.csv or .parquet), .parquet takes up less and .csv.gz takes up a little more, but it is still very little, reaching around 1MB per day considering that you have 10 thousand devices.
